SNAP is an acronym for the title…Survivors Network of  those abused by Priest and Pastors.  This organization was the first organization to publically support myself and the other victims that stood up for justice against our abuser over two years ago.  Judy Jones, Regional Director of SNAP began emailing us and staying in touch with support and encouragement that helped us stay strong in the darkest hour of our journey.

And I have good news!!!  Charleston is now home to the newest SNAP Support Group in the Country.  Our frist meeting was held Tuesday October 13th at the St. Alban’s Public Library.  It was humble beginnings of something we know will soon thrive.

The purpose is simple…to gather and provide support and encouragement for the survivors of sexual abuse and their families.  Such a simple concept, but it yields such high results.  SNAP support is not limited to those who were victimized by clergy, but it is open to anyone who is a survivor of sexual abuse in any capacity.  SNAP knows no age, race, gender or sexuality, but rather only focuses on our common thread of being a survivor!

It’s non-Political! Non-Spiritual!  Non-Religious!  And…its free!!!  We will be meeting monthly at the Charleston Family YMCA and we will be announcing our November meeting date in a week or so.  I encourage you to visit the SNAP website and educate yourself on the focus and aim of this wonderful organization.

In a 5-2 desion Thursday, the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled that it is ‘Unconstitutional’ to restrict sex offenders from living near schools and daycare centers.

This ruling by the Supreme Court of Kentucky abolished the law that was originally passed in 2006 by the Kentucky House and Senate.

This is almost too much to digest.  How can so called ‘Supreme’ Court Justices in Kentucky reverse such a law that was ment to protect the public, particularly, the children of that state?  These judges need to get a taste of the real world!  apparently they dont read the stats that overwhelmingly tells us that sex offenders living near schools and daycare centers are more likely to re-offend, than a sex offender who was living away from such areas!

And let us not forget the fact that sex offenders have some of the lowest bond and sentencing guidelines, not to mention they have the highest re-offender rate of any criminal!  Thats right you liberal so called judges…sex offenders CANNOT BE STOPPED!!!  The only way to stop them is to keep them locked up…PERIOD!!!

Lets look at this objectively.  Take a drug addict for example.  If you take away the drugs from them, they cant offend.  How about a drunk driver.  If you take away their keys, they can’t drive drunk. 

But sex offenders are the one criminal that has temptation everywhere they go.  You cant take away their weakness.  If they look outside at the playground across from their house, they are tempted.  When they go to Wal-Mart and see the hundreds of kids at any given time in the store,they are tempted.  When they take a walk down the street and pass you children along the way, they are tempted!

Sexual predators can never escape their weakness, that is why we depend on the courts to protect us.  But over and over again the courts side with these monsters and gives them the opportunity to offend again!  They may never be caught again but you can bet your last dollar they are victimizing kids still because they never stop abusing!

Again, I remind you the public, i.e. VOTING PUBLIC, that the ball is in your COURT to pressure these jokes we call judges because they are elected officials.  And if they were elected to that seat, they can be de-throned by our vote.  YOUR VOTE HAS A VOICE…SO SPEAK UP!!!  Do it to protect your kids!

(Elkview) Charges of first-degree sexual abuse and sexual abuse by a parent or guardian have now been filed against an Elkview man.

Matthew Scott Mullins, 22, is accused of engaging in sexual acts with his four-year-old stepdaughter last summer. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department says Mullins has admitted to the abuse and was arrested on Saturday after his confession.

He is at the South Central Regional Jail on $50,000 cash bond.

…Wow!  Did you read that last sentence?  Held on a $50,000 cash bond?  Are you serious?  An admitted child sex offender..IN THE FIRST DEGREE…has been issued a bogus $50,000 bond.  Which means he will be back out in public by tomorrow afternoon riding his four-wheeler around and drinking his bud light.

IF you dont realize it, Magistrate ‘Judges’ are elected officials, who ARE NOT required to have any judical background or training at all!  They simply sit through a class for brief training once they are elected…what a joke!!!

If you sell drugs, your bond will be higher that this scum of the earth child sex offender!  Certain animal criminal acts carry a higher bond amount!  This is a joke! 

If this was your child who was abused…or if you lived near this sicko…would you appreciate such a ridiculous bond amount….NO!!  So why wait till it hits close to home?  Speak up now!  Call the Kanawha County Judical Annex and demand that our so called ‘knowledgable Magistrates’ start protecting the community, and most of all our children…..demand that they stop setting these ridiculously low bond amounts for sex offenders!!!
